The Meghalaya Natural & Organic Farming Society for Livelihood & Innovation in Agriculture is the State’s apex body driving organic transformation and climate-resilient agriculture.
Meghalaya marked a major step forward in advancing organic agriculture and strengthening its farming communities at the 1st Northeast India Organic Week & 4th World Organic Youth Summit.
This four-day event brought together delegations from 13 countries, youth leaders, buyers, organic practitioners, and key stakeholders, creating a comprehensive platform for experience sharing, policy dialogue, capacity building, and showcasing Meghalaya’s organic strengths.
Across all four days, sessions featured addresses by distinguished dignitaries, the release of the Organic Compendium, the launch of the MEGNOLIA website, knowledge sessions led by IFOAM–Organics Asia, presentations on NPOP revisions, insights on Meghalaya’s growing position in India’s organic sector, and the inauguration of the exhibition area—collectively reinforcing the State’s leadership and long-held tradition in organic agriculture.
